The World Snooker Championship (WSC) is a series of video games based on snooker featuring licensing from the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association starting 2001, with a new game out in 2019. The first four games were published by Codemasters and developed by Blade Interactive Software. Later games were published by Sega, Deep Silver and Koch Media.

Overview[edit]
The first game was simply named 'World Championship Snooker' and released in 2000. In 2004, following a change in publisher, the series was renamed World Snooker Championship to better reflect the name of the tournament body and the actual tournament.
In 2005 the box art featured the snooker player Paul Hunter who died in 2006 from cancer. When the game was re-released as a budget title from Sold-Out Software, he remained on the cover and in-game, but a memorial notice was included on the back of the case ('Paul Hunter 1978 - 2006').
The 2007 version was the first to feature fully licensed pool tournaments. In previous versions, pool was a side mode that could only be played in matches against the computer or other players.
From 2008 onwards, the series was renamed WSC Real: World Snooker Championship. The branding was changed to reflect more realistic gameplay, including the ability to play in first person and view shots from any angle, and characters' lifelike emotions.

This was the first game in the series to use the official World Snooker Championship moniker for the game. The game featured modes similar to the previous entry in the series, with a career mode, tournament mode, and online modes, as well as quickplay and training modes.[1] The game also features an unlockable 'League of Champions' which allows you to replay past real-life events. The game featured additional modes to previous releases, with options to play games such as bar billiards.[1]
Paul Hunter would feature on the game's cover, but would be diagnosed with cancer before the game's release,[2] but would continue to play the sport.[2] Hunter would die in 2006, from neuroendocrine tumours in the lining of his stomach.[3][4] With later releases of the game by Sold-out Software, his image and likeness remained on the cover and in the game but with a tribute on the back of the box 'Paul Hunter 1978 - 2006'.[5] Skyrim se black mage armor.
After meeting certain requirements, videos of real-life shots are played, showing professional players performing the same shots.[6] In 'Free Play' mode, other variables can be edited, such as number of reds on the table, and even the dimensions of the table itself.[6]
